Minister of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs
Member for Lake Melville
Keith Russell was elected to represent the people of the District of Lake Melville in the October 11, 2011, general election.
Mr. Russell is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Labrador Friendship Centre, a community volunteer and a Lake Melville Minor Hockey Coach.
He graduated from Our Lady Queen of Peace School in Happy Valley-Goose Bay and went on to receive a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1998 from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
Born in Happy Valley, Labrador in 1975, Mr. Russell is the middle of three sons to Kay and Frank Russell. He is married to Brenda and has two wonderful children, Alicia and Keith. In July 2014, Minister Russell was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Advanced Education and Skills, Minister responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, and Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.
On September 30, 2014, Minister Russell was appointed Minister of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs.
